Croquet Club

The Croquet Club of Bald Head Island was first organized when croquet came to the island in 1986. Today we have 60 members and a regular weekly schedule of play. In addition to individual court reservations, the club routinely joins together for rounds of Golf Croquet, Women’s Wickets and Sunday Open Play.

The Croquet Club organizes monthly competitions known as Scramblers featuring all levels of player as a regular opportunity to gather and get caught up on our busy island lives. The Club encourages both Golf Croquet and 6 Wicket styles of play, provides instruction, and holds member tournaments in single and doubles formats throughout the year.

Croquet instruction is open to all members of BHIClub. Croquet Director Jeff Soo and Croquet Instructor Eileen Soo provide a regular schedule of clinics and lessons for everyone from complete beginners to championship-level tournament players.

Members of the Bald Head Island Croquet Club are also members of the US Croquet Association. Croquet Club members are eligible to play in local and regional tournaments. Additionally, the Club’s world-class courts have hosted state tournaments and exhibitions.
